Alfiyah (ألفية ابن مالك) or in full is Al-Khulasa al-Alfiyya is a poetry book (rhythmic) about Arabic grammar from the 13th century. This book was written by an Arabic language expert born in Jaén, Spain named Ibn Malik (d. 672 H / 22 February 1274 AD). Together with the Al-Ajurrumiyah book, the Alfiyah Book is among the basic books to be memorized for pesantren students.
This book has at least 43 books of explanation (sharah) and is one of the two basic books of Arabic education for beginners in Arab society until the 20th century. When in the 20th century, the education curriculum began to be displaced by the colonial curriculum, such as the inclusion of the French school curriculum for cases that occurred in Morocco
