The description of Schulte table: speed reading
Schulte table — useful application that helps to train attention, peripheral vision, visual perception and, as a result, increase speed of reading of texts and books. Due to the various design styles, the application is suitable for adults and children.
What is this?
The Schulte Table was developed by german psychiatrist and psychotherapist Walter Schulte originally as a psycho-diagnostic test to study the properties of attention and brain reaction. It is a grid (generally size 5x5) with randomly distributed numbers or letters. There are possible variations with different dimensions, coloured cells and values. Over time, such tables have become popular as a technique for speed reading training.
Switching attention and concentration test
Especially note there is a mode as the Gorbov-Schulte tables. This test is designed to assess the speed of switching attention and can be used to determine professional suitability for professions that require increased concentration and quick response (for example, air traffic controllers, railway train drivers, etc.). You must alternate between numbers, black in ascending order and red in descending order: 1 black, 24 red, 2 black, 23 red, etc. It can be used for focus training as well.
Basic speed reading exercise
▪ place the classic schulte table (5x5) at the same distance as you usually read the book
▪ focus your eyes on its center
▪ without taking your eyes off the center, find each number in the selected order using your peripheral vision
There should not be a lot of attempts of such training, about 10 a day is enough.
Train your brain activity
You can use this application to keep your brain in good shape or as a brain reaction game and compete with your friends for the best time. There are different sizes, styles of grid, timer and other settings, also you can check your stats with best results. It can be fun and useful.
Schulte table is a good way to increase reading speed and brain training at all. Self-improvement and personal development are important skills at the present time. If you read faster, you save time, but remember that it is important to keep a balance between speed and comprehension.
