The Italian football team (Nazionale di calcio dell'Italia) is the selection of Italian players representing the country in international men's football competitions, under the aegis of the Italian Football Federation.
The Italian selection is, after the Brazilian team, and with Germany, one of the three national teams with the most World Cup victories: four, in 1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006. It also has reached the final in 1970 and 1994, both lost to Brazil. Italy also won the Olympics in 1936 and the European Championship in 1968 at home. She lost two other European finals in 2000 and 2012. She was ranked 1st in the world rankings in November 1993 and then several times during 2007.
