Who likes to spend the whole day with phlegm, cold and cough due to cold! Every year many of us get cold during winter so we all need to know what to do if we get cold during this time. Cold can be treated at home if known.
Take 3-4 pieces of ginger, 2-4 cloves of garlic, 2-3 cinnamon sticks, 5-6 peppercorns in a bowl and crush them with a mortar and pestle, then make a tea with this mixture and drink it 1-2 times a day. Drinking it reduces the amount of phlegm and cough and nasal congestion with colds.
If the amount of phlegm is high, take 2 medium sized onions, a glass of water and a tablespoon of honey and blend it in a blender to make juice and if the phlegm is high, drink it daily.
Many people have phlegm in their throats when they have a cold, which is sometimes quite painful. So, if you always have phlegm in the throat, you can chew some cinnamon sometimes, it reduces the amount of phlegm in the throat.
Some people have a lot of pain in the tonsils of the throat during a cold and even speaking can become difficult at times. Usually such pain is caused due to inflammation of tonsils, so take warm water, mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder or one tablespoon of turmeric juice in it and drink it warm, but the warmth must be bearable in the throat.
Can't sleep for coughing at night? Then cut the ginger into small pieces and chew it slowly with a little bit of salt. Eating it helps in cough as well as reduces the amount of phlegm in the throat.
